Post 59: Ready or not, here we come!

It’s been another frenetic week at the worksite as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters and tilers scramble to complete their tasks while competing for space. On Friday, the day we moved in, they had to make way for three deliveries – appliances, new furniture and our “lares and penates” from Bridgton.

GC Ryan Crowell brought a huge box of fresh Dunkin Donuts which he laid out on our kitchen island, creating a festive feel to the day, which was sunny and clear and 73 degrees F with low humidity. Perfect for paint to dry and movers to lift heavy objects.

Even our cat, Caper, was chill, not crying on the short car journey and took to the catio we built him in the barn. After all the workers left, we brought him into the house to explore. He loves it! It’s bigger than any flat he’s lived in before, more like our friend Lisa’s house, where he spent a few weeks and didn’t want to leave.

We know how he feels. Now that we are in, we don’t want to leave either. I’ll let the photos tell the story.

Interiors looking more homey now…

Some parts of the house are still under construction and will be for another week or so.

Outside, the guys finished the cedar decking on the farmers porch and back deck.

We’re all very happy here. The view is amazing!
