Post 64: Landscaping!

This was a transformative week at the Red House. Joe from Drew Corps arrived early each morning to pull out old stumps and move mountains of dirt (fill), gravel and sand. He defined the boundaries for a narrowed driveway and spread and compacted a base for loam. We now have a front and back yard that will covered with loam and sod from Mainely Turf of Fryeburg. Joe also prepared the earth along the edges for a field mix of seed to be covered by hay.

Joe removes the stumps from the cedars we had cut down in 2021.

In just a few days, the area went from moonscape to landscape. It’s possible now to imagine what it will look like when the circular driveway is finished and the edges are green again.

Inside, Kerry Munn finished wallpapering two more rooms. The new place is looking old again.

  1. Gorgeous fireplace surround.
You are lucky to have a neighbor with smithing skills. He did a lovely job on the lantern crook.
