Post 4: Demolition Done

Weatherproofing & debris clean up

When we lived in London, it seemed that one or more of our neighbors in Primrose Hill were always renovating their homes. “Skips,” better known as dumpsters in the U.S. were a common sight on the street, and we were often awakened in the morning by the sound of a full skip being hauled away and an empty one being set noisily in its place.

The weather was a bit drier the first week of August but rain was never far off in the forecast so the next step was very important. The crew wrapped the exposed walls in waterproof tarps.

With all the debris from the porches and crushed 1840’s addition, Josh filled a skip several times over which was hauled away. By August 5th, nothing was left but granite slabs, which we will incorporate into our future landscaping design.
