Post 54: A Touch of Color

While we went on holiday for a few days to the coast, painter Doug Guildford got right to work. We returned Saturday to discover the living room, both our offices, the Maine bedroom and sitting room walls all painted!

Outside, work continued on the facade. Two sets of stone steps are stacking up and the carpenters added trim, working around the details of the new front door entablature.

The most dramatic change this week was in the driveway. Excavators came to dig trenches from the drinking water and geothermal wells to the foundation wall.

  1. Your colors are so calm and warm. Perfect. And, not too surprisingly, I love the granite steps. Nothing welcomes one to a house like an intrusive igneous rock.

  2. So exciting to see this progress after having the grand tour recently. Such beautiful work by all the tradesmen.
